BREEZEWAY LIFT, MONARCH SKI AREA (CHAFFEE COUNTY, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of this 1968 Hall double-chair ski lift at the Monarch Ski Area, one of the oldest lifts still in use in the state. The project allowed the ski area to replace the lift with newer technology.

JEFFERSON STREET (FORT COLLINS, CO)

Intensive-level survey of twenty-five buildings for this streetscape improvement project in downtown Fort Collins. The project included documenting Jefferson Street, originally a frontier wagon road that dated back to the 1860s cavalry fort and served as the city’s first commercial thoroughfare.

Section 106 study of the entire 1940s-1960s Snow King Mountain Resort above the city of Jackson in support of an effort to obtain a US Forest Service permit for planned expansion and modification.

Intensive-level documentation of the North Meadows segment of the D&RGRR corridor to determine significance, integrity, eligibility and effects related to planned highway interchange alterations.

JOSH AMES DITCH & DIVERSION STRUCTURE (FORT COLLINS, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of this 1867 irrigation ditch, one of the earliest constructed along the Cache la Poudre River. The project assisted the City of Fort Collins with its effort to rehabilitate the river corridor.

LINDEN STREET (FORT COLLINS, CO)

Intensive-level survey of one dozen buildings for this streetscape improvement project in downtown Fort Collins, extending the Old Town historic district to the Cache la Poudre River through the former fort area.

LARIMER COUNTY CANAL NO. 2 (FORT COLLINS, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of this 1873 irrigation ditch, the first constructed into the higher benchlands and agricultural districts south of the Cache la Poudre River. The project was completed to assist with redevelopment of the city’s primary shopping mall.

CACHE LA POUDRE RIVER (FORT COLLINS, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of thirteen historic resources along the river corridor adjacent to downtown, including several residences and commercial buildings, a major vehicular bridge, two historic railroad bridges, an irrigation ditch and headgate, and flood-retention and water diversion structures. The project helped the City of Fort Collins obtain a US Army Corps of Engineers permit under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act for improvements to the river corridor and the construction of a whitewater park.

COLORADO & SOUTHERN RAILROAD FREIGHT DEPOT (FORT COLLINS, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of this 1906 freight depot, one of the few of this type still standing in Colorado. The building has been converted into the city’s Downtown Transit Center. The project assisted the City of Fort Collins with its effort to obtain grant funding for improvements to the facility.

MCCLURE RANCH (GARFIELD COUNTY, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of this 1887 homestead located just east of the Catherine Store, between Carbondale and Basalt. The project assisted the developer with their effort to obtain a Corps permit for redevelopment along the Roaring Fork River corridor.

GARDNER-SMITH-THURSTON RANCH (GRAND COUNTY, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of this circa 1895 mountain ranch and stagecoach stop near Tabernash between Fraser and Granby. The project assisted the county with planning for highway realignment through the area.

GRAND JUNCTION REGIONAL AIRPORT (GRAND JUNCTION, CO)

Intensive-level survey of the airport property, along with 1,800 acres of adjacent BLM land north of the airport toward the Book Cliffs. This included Level II documentation and analysis of the 1889 Little Book Cliff Railway. The project assisted the airport authority with their effort to expand the facility.

GREELEY CANAL NO. 3 (GREELEY, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of this 1870 irrigation canal, the first constructed by the Union Colony along the Cache la Poudre River. The canal provided the utopian colony, which evolved into the City of Greeley, with water for agriculture and town gardens. The project assisted the quarry with their planned expansion of operations.

ARAPAHOE BASIN SKI AREA (LOVELAND PASS, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of the 1965 Arapahoe Lodge in support of an effort to obtain a permit from the US Forest Service for building expansion.

CALIFORNIA CAMP, RANGELY OILFIELD (RANGELY, CO)

Intensive-level survey of one dozen buildings in the California Camp, including mid-20 th century shops, warehouses, and the oilfield’s guesthouse. The project assisted Chevron with its effort to expand operations in the oilfield.

Intensive-level survey of an area of potential effect related to the planned realignment and expansion of the airport runways.

BULL CANAL (THORNTON, CO)

Intensive-level and Level II documentation of this 1910 irrigation canal, which ran for 41 miles through the countryside north of Denver. The project assisted a developer with their effort to obtain a Clean Water Act 404 permit for development of a property adjacent to the canal.

RUDOLPH AND ELIZABETH DALKE FARM (WELLINGTON, CO)

Intensive-level documentation of this circa 1910 farm located in the countryside southeast of Wellington. The project assisted the USDA with disposition of the repossessed property.

HOLLAND-JOUFLAS RANCH (WOLCOTT, CO)

Intensive-level survey of this 1880s alpine homestead and cattle/sheep ranch that once occupied much of the valley at Wolcott. The project assisted the developer with obtaining a permit from the Corps for development of the property.
